Research interests
My research interests center on remote sensing, GIS, and their application
in environmental science. I am especially interested in improving the information
extraction capability of remote sensing and advancing our knowledge of human-affected
ecosystems using processed-based models. My research typically involves
the coordinated use of field observations, ground-based, airborne, and satellite
remote sensing, and GIS to measure, monitor, and map various natural and/or
human-dominated environment and model the inherent processes. My recent
research has focused on measuring ecosystem structure using LiDAR (Light
Detection and Ranging) and modeling the carbon, water, and energy exchange
between vegetation and atmosphere
