TCSH Coastal Community

TCSH is an organization of dedicated people working to create vibrant coastal communities in Hawaii. TCSH is a chapter of the national organization, The Coastal Society (TCS). The chapter is run by University of Hawaii students. The students are advised by a board of professionals from the academic, private and public sectors. TCSH acts as the voice of student and community groups interested in protecting Hawaii's coastal resources. This voice informs the B.E.A.C.H legislative advisory board. TCSH will also support the development of a UH Sea Grant sponsored Center of Excellence for Natural Hazards.

The Voyage

""Our mission is to encourage people to think of Hawaii's beaches as an irreplaceable resource. We seek to do this by building upon our unique coastal heritage in Hawaii. TCSH attempts to link the research needs of community, professional and governmental organizations with the resources and interests of University of Hawaii students, faculty and research extension agents. We seek to inspire coastal stewardship and create a sense of community by engaging people in thought provoking

dialogue.
